Field-Proven Precision Breeding
Our large, field-proven precision breeding program thoroughly evaluates products based on the latest science and uses extensive field testing to help increase yield potential and minimize risk.
It all starts with plant breeding. Germplasm is the building block for better products. When beginning the breeding process, we start with a large genetic pool of possible products, narrow them down in less time, and test more high-potential top performers in fields like yours.
In this phase, we begin selecting the products to undergo local testing. We use local breeding and technology development plots to understand early product potential and determine which products perform best under differing agronomic conditions.
With assistance from our Fontanelle Hybrids technical agronomists, we select a handful of products to test in local Fontanelle Hybrids trials. Before a product is brought to market, we test and monitor it across hundreds of field scenarios in your local area.
Adding to the Stewart Seeds™ Product Lineup
After local testing, our technical agronomists select the products that performed the best across the area we serve. These products are introduced each year into our product lineup.
Testing for High-Performing Seed
Your field is unlike any other. That’s why we evaluate our products through our Agronomy in Motion™ (AIM) Solutions Network of 120 farmer-cooperators across Indiana, Ohio and Kentucky. This is how we provide you with proven results right where you need them — and help you make agronomic decisions that can optimize your yield and profit potential.
"Local testing is critical for us to understand and meet the needs of our customers in the specific areas we operate in. That means testing our products for fit, testing new and innovative techniques and management practices and most importantly, passing that knowledge on to our customers so they can use the information to continue to raise their yield potential."
